Victorian Fireplaces

A new freedom in the use of architectural form and ornamentation emerged in the Victorian age which is reflected in the fireplace designs of the period.

    The Buckingham has carved corbels which support the reeded mantel shelf. Shown in Statuary Marble with the Ornate Arch register grate and Black Slate hearth.

  • The Colebrooke
    The Colebrooke

    One of the most popular 19th Century designs comprising simple mouldings to the head of the jambs and a frieze spanning the full width of the body of the fireplace. Shown with the Godwin register grate and Black Slate hearth.

    A popular late 19thc. Design with plain jambs and frieze and simple moulded corbel supporting a generous mantel shelf. Available in White Marble

  • The Holland
    The Holland

    The Holland is a beautifully carved, Statuary Marble, early Victorian style chimneypiece, typical of the large Clifton houses built between 1840 and 1860. This elegant arched chimneypiece has floral carving in the spandrels, down the jambs and in the keystone, whilst lamb tongue detail follows the line of the arch.

    The Ladbroke is a simple yet stylised copy of an early Victorian chimneypiece in Statuary Marble. Its strong fielded panels in the spandrels and in the jambs is typical of the 1850 -1870 manner of the Victorian age.
